Nature+Art+Teens/Tweens=Fun Workshops

There is a powerful intersection between nature and art, and the Nashua River Watershed Association (NRWA) is looking to explore that intersection with young people ages 10 to 15.  Come to one, two, or all three of our free “Nature+Art+Teens/Tweens=Fun” workshops to be held at the Williams Barn and Conservation Land in Groton, MA. The workshops will run from 3:00 to 5:00 p.m. on Mondays April 3, 10, & 24.

Each workshop will feature the local plant and animal life of a defined habitat at the Williams Barn property, with a focus on close observation and sketching to better understand how living things connect and are interdependent. All programs will include hands-on experiential learning tools and activities including outdoor exploration in each of the three habitats, and an opportunity to use drawing and painting to explore the wonders of nature. The workshops will also offer opportunities for like-minded young people to meet and share their passions for nature and art together in a safe and fun environment. NRWA educators/naturalists Stacey Chilcoat and Gaynor Bigelbach will lead the series.

This program is free and open to ages 10 to 15.  Registration is required; space is limited. For questions, email registration@NashuaRiverWatershed.org.  This free NRWA youth program series is made possible in part by a grant from the Groton Trust Fund Lecture Fund.
